Great news is happening in our community with the Montpelier Idaho Temple! The parking lot is freshly striped, and the exterior lighting is all set up, creating a warm welcome for everyone. Inside, landscaping and finishing touches are in full swing, and we’re excited to share that construction is expected to wrap up in early to mid-2026. Just think about the open house and dedication celebrations that will follow—what a joy that will be!
Announced on May 20, 2022, the Montpelier Idaho Temple is a wonderful addition to Idaho, marking it as the eighth temple in our beautiful state. It’s located at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254, and features a charming central tower that will surely catch your eye. This temple spans 27,000 square feet and includes two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, offering a peaceful place for worship and connection.
At an elevation of 5,969 feet and spread out over 2.6 acres, it’s designed to harmonize beautifully with Idaho’s stunning landscapes. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 17, 2023, led by Elder Ryan K. Olsen, where he offered heartfelt blessings for everyone involved. It’s a lovely reminder of the community spirit and the hopes this temple brings.
With a population of over 2,500 and a rich history dating back to 1855 when early pioneers settled here, Montpelier is a truly special place. The excitement soared when the official rendering of the temple was unveiled on April 24, 2023, showcasing a beautiful design that reflects the area’s charm.
