Great things are happening with the Montpelier Idaho Temple! The parking lot is freshly striped, and the exterior lights are shining bright, making it feel like a truly special place. Inside, landscaping and finishing touches are in full swing, and we’re excited to share that construction is expected to wrap up in early to mid-2026. Just think about the open house and dedication celebrations that will follow—what a wonderful time that will be!
Announced on May 20, 2022, this temple will be the eighth in our beautiful state of Idaho, located right at Washington St, Montpelier, ID 83254. It promises to be a lovely addition to our community with its charming single tower and spacious layout of 27,000 square feet! Inside, there will be two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, making it a welcoming space for everyone.
Perched at an elevation of 5,969 feet and built on 2.6 acres of scenic land, the temple will fit right into the stunning Idaho landscape. The groundbreaking ceremony on June 17, 2023, led by Elder Ryan K. Olsen, was a touching occasion that brought everyone together to offer blessings for this meaningful project.
With over 2,500 friendly faces in Montpelier, we have a deep connection to our history, dating back to the pioneers who settled here in 1855. The excitement grew even more when the official rendering of the temple was revealed on April 24, 2023. It looks just beautiful and reflects the wonderful spirit of our area!
As we see this amazing building come to life, we feel a warm sense of pride and joy in knowing it will strengthen our community and bring people together. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to this new sacred space!
