Nestled on a beautiful 10.43-acre site off Butler Avenue and South Fourth Street, the Flagstaff Arizona Temple will boast an impressive 18,850 square feet of sacred space at an elevation of 6,828 feet. While there hasn’t been an official rendering or groundbreaking date released yet, the anticipation is building among the approximately 450,000 Latter-day Saints in Arizona, served by more than 925 congregations.

The Flagstaff Arizona Temple is set to be a significant addition to the state’s spiritual landscape. Announced by Prophet Russell M. Nelson on April 6, 2025, during the 195th Annual General Conference, this temple will be the ninth of its kind in Arizona, a testament to the growing community of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the region.

The rich history of the Church in Arizona dates back to the winter of 1846, when the first members arrived, paving the way for the vibrant community we see today. As plans for the Flagstaff Arizona Temple come to life, it promises to be a beacon of hope, faith, and dedication for both current members and future generations.
