In Provo’s embrace, where memories dwell,
A temple stood, with stories to tell.
Once called a “spaceship,” a “cupcake” so sweet,
A beacon of faith, where hearts would meet.
Yet time whispers softly, and change takes its course,
The old now makes way for a new temple’s force.
The Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple begins to rise,
Under the gaze of the wide, open skies.
With spires that reach, like prayers in the night,
Its familiar form returns, a stunning sight.
Windows are set, the framing takes shape,
As the past and the future begin to escape.
Though some may mourn the lost quirky design,
The beauty of change weaves a brand-new line.
Concrete is poured, with sidewalks anew,
A canvas is crafted for faith to break through.
By mid-year’s end, the journey will yield,
An open house beckons, a promise revealed.
For each sacred stone laid in this new grace,
Holds the echoes of love in this hallowed space.
A petition was inked, with voices united,
To cherish the past, though change was ignited.
Yet time moves onward, and spirits within,
Will find hope anew where the heart can begin.
From a cupcake delight to a structure refined,
This temple will grow in the hearts intertwined.
For memories linger, replacing the old,
In the warmth of new stories yet to be told.
