The announcement for the Sacramento California Temple was made on April 21, 2021. This date marks the beginning of a new chapter in the region’s spiritual landscape. The Temple’s groundbreaking and site dedication occurred on August 22, 2004, under the direction of Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley, setting the stage for its future role.
In preparation for its dedication, a public open house was held from July 29 to August 26, 2006. This event allowed many to become acquainted with the Temple’s unique features. Subsequently, the official dedication was conducted by Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley on September 3, 2006.
