A New Architectural Marvel

A New Beginning in Arkansas

On October 5, 2019, during the 194th General Conference, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced an exciting development for Arkansas—the Bentonville Arkansas Temple. This significant project marks the establishment of the first Temple in the state, a milestone that reflects the growth and commitment of the community.

Location and Size

Situated at 1105 McCollum Dr, Bentonville, Arkansas 72712, the Bentonville Temple will span an impressive 28,472 square feet on an 18.62-acre site. This expansive area offers space not only for the Temple itself but also for a meetinghouse, as both facilities will share a parking lot, promoting accessibility and convenience for attendees.

Distinctive Features

Standing at an elevation of 1,268 feet, the Bentonville Arkansas Temple boasts a single attached central spire—a distinctive architectural feature that is both elegant and memorable. Unlike many other Temples, this one will not feature a gold-leafed Angel Moroni atop the spire, allowing its unique design to shine through.

The Bentonville Arkansas LDS Temple’s exterior will be adorned with beautiful granite, creating a stunning visual appeal. As you approach, the bronze entry doors, enhanced by a center art glass panel, invite visitors to explore the interior.

Interior Highlights

The interior design of the Bentonville Arkansas Temple is equally impressive. Luxurious gold broadloom carpets complement decorative light fixtures crafted from glass, bronze, and crystal, providing an atmosphere of elegance. Intricate wood inlay throughout the Bentonville LDS Arkansas Temple features motifs inspired by the area’s natural beauty, including the dogwood blossom and diamond patterns.

One of the most captivating aspects of the Bentonville Arkansas Temple is its primary stained glass windows, which depict the dogwood blossom—one of the first spring flowers to bloom in the region. Sunbursts and diamond designs further enhance these windows, adding to the overall aesthetic of the space.

Landscaping

The grounds of the Bentonville Arkansas Temple will feature local flora, with the iconic dogwood tree prominently planted alongside other native trees and shrubs. This thoughtful landscaping reinforces a connection to the natural beauty of Arkansas and creates a peaceful environment for all who visit.

The Dedication

The Bentonville Arkansas Temple officially became the 181st dedicated Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on September 17, 2023. The dedication was led by Apostle David A. Bednar, marking a momentous occasion for the local community and beyond.

A Symbol of Growth and Hope

The Bentonville Arkansas Temple stands as a testament to the growth of the community and the establishment of enduring values. Its beautiful design, meaningful features, and commitment to local culture contribute to a remarkable addition to Bentonville and the state of Arkansas.

As the first Temple in Arkansas, it embodies the spirit of unity, reflection, and connection, inviting individuals and families to engage deeply with their faith and heritage in a space designed for Temple work for its patrons
