Located at 14065 Canyon Vista Ln, Draper, Utah, the Draper Utah Temple is a stunning addition to the landscape of the Salt Lake Valley. Announced on October 2, 2004, this extraordinary Templae was officially dedicated from March 20th to 22nd, 2009, by the Prophet Thomas S. Monson.
Groundbreaking and Dedication
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on August 5, 2006, officiated by the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley. He remarked on the significance of the Templae, recognizing the faithfulness of the people who frequent it. His words highlighted the collective devotion that led to the creation of such a beautiful space.
Architectural Features
Covering an impressive 58,300 square feet, the Draper Utah Temple is designed with elegant and intricate details. Built on 12 acres, the exterior is adorned with white granite sourced from China, complemented by limestone from France. The Templae features a single central spire, topped with a stunning gold leafed statue of the Angel Moroni, installed on July 8, 2008.
Inside, the Draper Utah Temple boasts four instruction rooms and five sealing rooms, providing ample space for various functions and ceremonies. The largest sealing room can accommodate up to 80 patrons, making it one of the most notable features of the Templae. Additionally, the baptistry is located on the downhill western side, allowing for natural light to fill the room through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Design Inspirations
The Draper Utah Temple has a unique theme inspired by the sego lily, which is Utah’s state flower. This theme is woven throughout the Templae’s design, enhancing its connection to the local culture and history. The interior also incorporates exquisite design elements, including hand-painted panoramas depicting mountain scenes and imagery of Draper’s Corner Canyon, which offers scenic views of the Salt Lake Valley.
Glass Features
The meticulous design is further showcased in the glass features, which include 221 exterior windows and 50 interior windows. The Templae has a total of 432 door panels, amounting to an impressive 35,420 hand-cut pieces of glass. The windows reflect the Log Cabin quilt pattern, paying homage to the early pioneers of the area.

For convenience, the Draper Utah Temple includes a spacious parking lot that can accommodate 492 vehicles, ensuring that those attending various activities have sufficient space.
