The journey of the Draper Utah Temple began with its announcement on October 2, 2004. The groundbreaking and site dedication, led by Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley on August 5, 2006, marked the beginning of its construction. As he stated, “It is a great tribute to our people. They are so faithful in temple attendance, and it is for this reason that we construct this beautiful house of the Lord.”
During an impressive public open house from January 15 to March 14, 2009, nearly 685,000 guests had the opportunity to explore its intricate designs and features.

The exterior of the Draper Utah Temple is crafted from elegant white granite sourced from China, complemented by limestone from France. One of its most striking features is the single attached central spire, which is graced by a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue that was installed on July 8, 2008.
Inside, the design incorporates luxurious Makore wood from Africa, enhancing the space’s natural beauty. The flooring showcases an exceptional layout with a total of 35,420 hand-cut pieces of glass, including 221 exterior windows and 50 interior windows—all embodying the Log Cabin quilt pattern used by early pioneers.

This Temple includes four instruction rooms, five sealing rooms, and a baptistry, accommodating a variety of spiritual activities. The largest sealing room can comfortably seat up to 80 patrons. Each ordinance room features hand-painted panoramas depicting stunning mountain scenes, capturing the essence of Draper’s Corner Canyon and highlighting the magnificent views of the Salt Lake Valley.
Interestingly, the baptistry is situated on the downhill western side, where natural light cascades through floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a serene atmosphere.
