The journey began with an announcement on October 3, 2021, during the General Conference. A groundbreaking and site dedication followed on October 8, 2022, led by President Russell M. Nelson, marking a pivotal moment for both the area and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Spanning 18.17 acres, the Heber Valley Utah Temple is designed to impress with its architectural features. Notable among these are two attached end towers and a sleek modern design devoid of the traditional Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. The space will include four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry, designed to accommodate the varied needs of its patrons.
At a size of 87,626 square feet, this Temple is categorized as large, highlighting its importance within the organization, especially as it will be the 28th Temple in Utah upon completion. It’s set to stand 210 feet tall, elevating its presence within the scenic landscape, which itself is situated at an elevation of 6,711 feet.
