Heber Valley Utah Temple: A New Addition to Utah’s Landscape

Excitement is building in Utah with the recent lifting of the construction injunction for the Heber Valley Utah Temple, a highly anticipated addition to the area. Located at 1400 E Center St, Heber City, Utah 84032, this new Temple is set to become a key feature in the picturesque Heber Valley.

The announcement for the Heber Valley Utah Temple was made on October 3, 2021, during the General Conference, and the groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 8, 2022. This event was led by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson, marking a significant milestone for the local and surrounding areas.

Spanning an impressive 18.17 acres, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will cover a substantial footprint of 87,626 square feet, classifying it as a large Temple within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Its height will reach 210 feet, making it a prominent feature in the landscape, which will sit at an elevation of 6,711 feet once the construction is completed.

Architecturally, the design will feature two attached end towers, and it will not include the Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, a defining feature of many other Temples. Inside, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will include four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry, providing essential spaces for various ceremonies and activities.

On September 19, 2022, a rendering of the Temple was released to the public, showcasing its stunning design that integrates beautifully with the surrounding natural beauty of Wasatch County. Known for its breathtaking mountain views, this rural valley is just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City, making it a perfect location for a spiritual center.

Once completed, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will be the 28th Temple in Utah, further enriching the vibrant tapestry of the state’s culture and history. As construction progresses, anticipation continues to grow for what this new addition will bring to Heber Valley, and the unique character it will embody in the region.
