Heber Valley Utah Temple: A New Chapter in Heber City

The Heber Valley Utah Temple is set to become a significant addition to the picturesque region of Wasatch County, located just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City. Announced on October 3, 2021, this new addition is generating excitement among those familiar with the area. Construction recently picked up momentum, as the injunction was lifted, paving the way for further development.

On October 8, 2022, the groundbreaking and site dedication took place, led by Prophet Russell M. Nelson. This occasion marked a significant milestone for the Heber Valley Utah Temple and was also announced during the October 2021 General Conference. The Temple will be situated on an 18.17-acre lot, providing ample space for its various features.

Architecturally, the Heber Valley Utah Temple is designed to impress, featuring two attached end towers. Notably, it will not include the Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, a common feature in many Temples. The interior will comprise four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry, catering to a range of spiritual needs.

With a total area of 87,626 square feet, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will hold the distinction of being classified as a large Temple within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This sizable facility will reach a height of 210 feet and will rest at an elevation of 6,711 feet upon completion, creating an impressive profile against the stunning mountain backdrop.
