Heber Valley Utah Temple: A Glimpse into Its Future

Exciting news surrounds the Heber Valley Utah Temple as the construction injunction has been lifted, paving the way for significant progress on this anticipated addition to the region. Nestled at 1400 E Center St, Heber City, Utah 84032, the Temple is set to become a prominent feature in the stunning Heber Valley.

The announcement of the Heber Valley Utah Temple came on October 3, 2021, during the semiannual General Conference. The groundbreaking and site dedication took place on October 8, 2022, led by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson, marking a significant milestone in its development.

Spanning an impressive 18.17 acres, the Heber Valley Utah Temple’s architectural design will stand out with two attached end towers and a notable absence of a Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. With a total area of 87,626 square feet, it qualifies as a large Temple according to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints criteria, which defines large Temples as those exceeding 80,000 square feet.

Inside, the Temple will feature four instruction rooms and four sealing rooms, complemented by a single baptistry, providing various spaces for different ceremonies and gatherings. The height of the Temple will reach 210 feet, elevating it majestically against the beautiful backdrop of the surrounding mountains. Once completed, it will be situated at an elevation of 6,711 feet, offering breathtaking views characteristic of Wasatch County.

On September 19, 2022, the public got its first glimpse of the Temple’s rendering, sparking excitement among those in the area. Located in a picturesque rural mountain valley, Heber Valley stands about 40 miles from Salt Lake City, making it an ideal spot for this development. As the 28th Temple in Utah, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will contribute to the rich tapestry of spiritual architecture within the state.

As construction moves forward, plans for this significant addition continue to take shape, making it a noteworthy aspect of Heber Valley’s growth and development.
