The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has officially announced exciting news for members and those interested in the faith’s expanding religious infrastructure. The Ephraim Utah Temple marks another significant addition to the Church’s global expansion, bringing spiritual services directly to the heart of central Utah’s Snow College community.

Official Announcement and Timeline

On May 1, 2021, Church leaders unveiled plans for the Ephraim Utah Temple, setting the stage for what would become a major undertaking in the region. The groundbreaking and site dedication took place on August 27, 2022, with Prophet Russell M. Nelson presiding over the sacred ceremony that officially commenced construction.

Location and Details

The Ephraim Utah Temple is located at 400 East 200 North, Ephraim, Utah 84627, positioning it conveniently for the surrounding region. Situated at an elevation of 5,567 feet, the Temple takes advantage of its mountain valley setting.

Building Specifications

This impressive facility spans 39,000 square feet, offering extensive space for the religious ordinances and services performed within its walls. The architectural design includes four instruction rooms and three sealing rooms, along with a single baptistry. The four endowment rooms are each designed to accommodate 30 people, allowing for efficient scheduling and intimate spiritual experiences.

Public Preview and Opening Dates

On March 4, 2022, Church officials released architectural renderings to the public, giving the first detailed glimpse into the Temple’s design. The much-anticipated media day is scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2026, with private tours for invited guests following on Tuesday, September 1.
