The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced exciting news for members and the surrounding region. The Ephraim Utah Temple will soon open its doors, marking a significant addition to the Church’s temples across the United States.
Announcement and Timeline
The announcement of the Ephraim Utah Temple came on May 1, 2021, bringing great anticipation to the community. The groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony took place on August 27, 2022, with the Church’s Prophet Russell M. Nelson presiding over the sacred event.

Situated at an elevation of 5,567 feet, the temple benefits from Ephraim’s beautiful high-altitude setting in central Utah.
Architectural Features and Design
The Ephraim Utah Temple spans 39,000 square feet and reflects the thoughtful design characteristic of modern LDS temples. The rendering was released to the public on March 4, 2022, giving members their first glimpse of the beautiful architectural design.
The interior features four instruction rooms, each capable of seating 30 people, along with three sealing rooms where members can participate in sacred ordinances. The temple also includes a single baptistry for baptismal services.
Open House and Media Day
An exciting media day is scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2026, allowing press and media representatives to tour the newly completed temple. Following the media day, private tours for invited guests will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
