On May 1, 2021, Church leaders unveiled plans for the Ephraim Utah Temple, generating considerable excitement throughout the central Utah area. The anticipation built over the following months, culminating in a powerful moment on August 27, 2022, when Prophet Russell M. Nelson presided over the groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony. This momentous occasion marked the official beginning of construction on this important religious edifice.

The Ephraim Utah Temple will encompass 39,000 square feet of carefully designed space. Perched at an elevation of 5,567 feet in the beautiful Sanpete Valley, the Temple’s architecture will complement the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.
The architectural rendering, released on March 4, 2022, revealed the vision for this sacred building. The Temple will feature:
- Four instruction rooms with seating capacity of 30 people each
- Three sealing rooms dedicated to eternal marriage ceremonies
- One baptistry for sacred ordinances

Media Day: Monday, August 31, 2026 – Journalists and media representatives will have the opportunity to tour the completed Temple and gain insight into its features and design.
Private Tours: Tuesday, September 1, 2026 – Invited guests will experience exclusive access to tour the Temple’s interior before its official dedication.
Public Open House: September 2-19, 2026 – This is the time when the general public can tour the completed Temple during designated hours, providing an opportunity to see the beautiful spaces and learn about the Temple’s purpose.
Following the public open house period, the Temple will be formally dedicated by Church leadership in a sacred ceremony.
