Country View of the Springfield Missouri Temple
Mark your calendars! The highly anticipated groundbreaking ceremony for the Springfield Missouri Temple is coming Saturday, June 6, 2026—and Elder Aroldo B. Cavalcante of the United States Southeast Area Presidency will lead the celebration.
A Return to Sacred Ground
This announcement carries deep significance. Missouri holds a treasured place in Church history as the birthplace of the Saints’ vision for Zion during the Church’s pioneering era. Today, that legacy continues to flourish—with over 84,000 faithful members now worshipping across approximately 180 congregations throughout the state.
A Third House of the Lord
The Springfield Missouri Temple will join an elite company, becoming the third dedicated temple in Missouri—standing alongside the Kansas City Missouri and St. Louis Missouri Temples. It’s a testament to the thriving faith community in the Show-Me State.
A Vision Announced, Now Coming to Life
President Nelson unveiled this sacred project in April 2023, sharing a powerful reminder: “Whatever questions or problems you have, the answer is always found in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.”
More Than a Meetinghouse
Unlike local chapels, temples are distinct sanctuaries—true “houses of the Lord.” Here, members seek divine peace, strengthen family bonds for eternity, and make sacred covenants to follow Christ. They’re places of profound spiritual transformation and healing.
