On April 4, 2021, President Russell M. Nelson announced exciting news for the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Oregon: plans for the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple were officially set in motion. This highly anticipated space is scheduled for dedication on June 7, 2026, following an open house that begins on April 23, 2026.

The roots of Latter-day Saint settlers in Oregon trace back to 1887, marking the beginning of a significant presence in the area. With over 154,000 members and more than 300 congregations throughout the state, the establishment of the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple represents a vital addition to the spiritual landscape of Oregon.
Located at 3701 Corporate Way in Springfield, this remarkable facility spans 10.5 acres and encompasses a total of 30,000 square feet. Standing at an impressive height of 120 feet and situated at an elevation of 429 feet, its architectural features include a striking single attached central spire, visible from various points around the region.
Interior Layout and Features
Inside, the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple is designed to support various sacred activities. It houses two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, each crafted to facilitate meaningful experiences for those who partake in its offerings.
Groundbreaking Ceremony
The groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by Elder Valeri V. Cordón on October 29, 2022, marking a significant milestone in this initiative. The anticipation surrounding this development underscores the essential role this new facility will play in the lives of its members.
