The Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple is set to open its doors for an open house from June 13 to June 27, 2026, offering an opportunity for individuals to explore its sacred spaces and contemplate its significance in the region. Located at Rua Professor Jose Vieira de Mendonça, 1485 Engenho Nogueira, Belo Horizonte–MG, this upcoming addition promises to be a source of inspiration for many.

The announcement of the Temple came on April 4, 2021, through the words of Prophet Russell M. Nelson during the 191st Annual General Conference. The excitement surrounding this announcement was palpable, as it signaled a transformative chapter for the local and broader faith community.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 17, 2023, presided over by Elder Juan A. Uceda. This event drew an impressive crowd of 500 attendees, marking a pivotal moment in the Temple’s journey. During the ceremony, Elder Uceda offered heartfelt prayers, seeking divine protection for those in the Temple district and expressing hopes for the successful completion of the building.

Once completed, the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple will be dedicated on August 16, 2026, standing on a sprawling 11.8 acres of land. The architectural design features a single attached central tower topped with a pyramid roof, while notably, a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue will not be included in the design.

Inside, the Temple will offer two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all within a total area of 27,000 square feet. Situated at an elevation of 2,740 feet, the Temple is poised to be a notable fixture in its surroundings.

The rendering of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple was publicly revealed on September 23, 2021, sparking enthusiasm among locals and stakeholders invested in the growth of the faith. This new addition is significant as it is the 12th Temple constructed in Brazil, but importantly, it is the first to be situated in the state of Minas Gerais.

The area has seen tremendous growth, with over 1.4 million members and around 2,100 congregations across Brazil prior to the Temple’s construction. The emergence of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple promises to enhance the spiritual landscape of Minas Gerais, offering a dedicated space for religious activities.

As construction progresses and the community eagerly anticipates its completion, the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple stands as a testament to devotion and faith, fostering connections for all who engage with its mission. This new endeavor in Minas Gerais is poised to inspire generations to come, continuing the growth and enrichment of the faith in Brazil.
