The eagerly anticipated Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple is set to open its doors to the public from June 13 to June 27, 2026. Nestled at Rua Professor Jose Vieira de Mendonça, 1485 Engenho Nogueira in Belo Horizonte, this incredible addition to the region’s landscape signifies a momentous occasion for many.

The announcement of the Temple came on April 4, 2021, during the 191st Annual General Conference, delivered by Prophet Russell M. Nelson. The excitement surrounding its development grew, culminating in the groundbreaking and site dedication on June 17, 2023. This significant event saw Elder Juan A. Uceda in attendance, along with about 500 guests. During his remarks, he expressed a heartfelt plea for the area and its residents, entreating divine protection and an abundance of light in the community.

The dedication of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple is scheduled for August 16, 2026, further marking its importance on the spiritual map of Brazil. With a generous footprint of 27,000 square feet and perched at an elevation of 2,740 feet, the Temple encompasses a remarkable 11.8 acres. Its architectural design features a striking single attached central tower with a pyramid roof, although it notably does not include a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue.

Inside, the Temple is equipped with two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a dedicated baptistry, catering to various sacred activities. Its thoughtfully planned layout ensures that those who utilize its services find both serenity and purpose.

The release of the Temple rendering on September 23, 2021, provided an exciting glimpse into what would soon become a reality. It’s important to note that while this is the 12th Temple constructed in Brazil, it holds the distinction of being the first built in Minas Gerais. Before its establishment, Brazil boasted over 1.4 million members and 2,100 congregations, reflecting the significant growth of the faith in the region.

The Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple embodies not only architectural splendor but also a commitment to fostering a deeper spiritual connection for many in Minas Gerais and beyond. As we look forward to its opening
