The announcement of this House of the Lord came during the 191st Annual General Conference on April 4, 2021, made by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson. This event sparked anticipation within the community and highlighted the growing influence of the faith across Brazil.
Groundbreaking Ceremony
The groundbreaking and dedication of the House of the Lord took place on June 17, 2023. Elder Juan A. Uceda conducted the ceremony, which saw an attendance of around 500 guests. Elder Uceda expressed hopes for the region during his comments, asking for divine protection and guidance, emphasizing the importance of the House of the Lord for the community.

The open house for the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple is scheduled from June 13, 2026, to June 27, 2026. The much-anticipated dedication is set for August 16, 2026. These dates mark key moments in the journey of the House of the Lord as it prepares to serve the community.
Architectural Features
The architectural design of the Belo Horizonte Brazil Temple includes several noteworthy elements. The House of the Lord features an attached central tower with a pyramid roof. Unlike other temples, it does not have a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, which makes its design distinct.
Interior Amenities
Inside, the House of the Lord provides two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and one baptistry. These facilities will enhance the personal and collective spiritual experiences available to the community.
