The groundbreaking for the Cleveland Ohio Temple took place on June 1, 2024, officiated by Elder Vaiangina Sikahema. Following the construction, an open house is scheduled from June 18, 2026, to July 3, 2026, with Sundays excluded. The official dedication will occur on August 16, 2026, presided over by Apostle David A. Bednar.
Construction Details
This notable House of the Lord will be constructed on a 12.5-acre parcel of land. It will feature a single attached central spire, notably without a gold-leafed Angel Moroni. The exterior will be crafted from granite, and the total area of the House of the Lord will span 9,900 square feet. Its elevation will be 733 feet.
History and Announcement
The announcement of the Cleveland Ohio Temple was made during the 194th General Conference on April 3, 2022. At that time, there were over 63,000 members of the church and 125 congregations across Ohio. This marks the second House of the Lord in the state, enhancing the spiritual landscape for church members.
