Heber Valley Utah Temple: A New Chapter Begins

The Heber Valley Utah Temple is making significant strides as developments progress toward its completion. Recently, dewatering has started, involving the drilling of 20 wells to pump water into large tanks, which will then be transported to Lake Creek just south of the site. Notably, this dewatering process is designed to have no environmental impact on the surrounding area.

In a recent turn of events, the construction injunction was lifted, allowing for the continued advancements on this significant endeavor. Located at 1400 E Center St, Heber City, Utah 84032, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will occupy a spacious 18.17 acres.

The journey began with the announcement on October 3, 2021, which was followed by the groundbreaking and site dedication on October 8, 2022. This important ceremony was officiated by Prophet Russell M. Nelson and was a highlight of the October 2021 General Conference.

Architecturally, the Heber Valley Utah Temple is set to feature two attached end towers and notably will not include the traditional Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. Inside, it will be equipped with four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry.

As a large Temple, measuring 87,626 square feet, it will exceed the 80,000 square feet threshold that qualifies it as such within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At a height of 210 feet, and once complete, it will sit at an elevation of 6,711 feet in the breathtaking Heber Valley.

The temple rendering was publicly revealed on September 19, 2022, showcasing what promises to be an architectural marvel in this picturesque rural mountain valley located in Wasatch County, just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City. The Heber Valley Utah Temple will mark the 28th addition to the array of Temples in Utah, promising to be an inspiring addition to the region.

As construction continues, many are looking forward to witnessing the evolution of this new Heber Valley icon, contributing to the vibrant tapestry of life in this beautiful area.
