Nelson, who also announced the temple during the October 2021 General Conference.
Environmental Considerations
Before construction could begin, dewatering tasks were completed, involving the drilling of 20 wells. Water from these wells was carefully managed, pumped into large tanks, and moved to Lake Creek, located just south of the House of the Lord. Remarkably, this process had no environmental impact on the area, ensuring that the natural beauty of Heber Valley remains intact.

The Heber Valley Utah Temple will encompass approximately 87,626 square feet, qualifying it as a large temple within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
