Exploring the Heber Valley Utah Temple

The Heber Valley Utah Temple is an exciting development that has garnered attention since its announcement on October 3, 2021. Situated on an 18.17-acre lot at 1400 E Center St, Heber City, Utah 84032, this upcoming addition to the area represents a significant undertaking.

The groundbreaking and site dedication took place on October 8, 2022, led by Prophet Russell M. Nelson, a moment announced at the October 2021 General Conference. As part of the construction process, dewatering has commenced, involving the drilling of 20 wells to manage groundwater levels effectively. The water will be pumped into large tanks for transport to Lake Creek, located just south of the site, ensuring that this process will have no environmental impact on the area.

With a planned footprint of 87,626 square feet, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will be classified as a large Temple in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, marking it as the 28th Temple in Utah upon completion. The design features two attached end towers and will not include a Gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. Inside, it will house four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and a single baptistry.

Standing at a height of 210 feet and situated at an elevation of 6,711 feet, the Heber Valley Utah Temple will offer breathtaking views of the surrounding picturesque rural mountains and valleys in Wasatch County, just over 40 miles from Salt Lake City.

On September 19, 2022, a rendering of the Temple was released to the public, allowing community members to visualize this significant addition to the landscape. As construction progresses, the Heber Valley Utah Temple is set to become a focal point for the local population, further enriching the cultural and spiritual tapestry of the region. Stay tuned for more updates on this remarkable endeavor!
