Site and Design Details
The Greenville South Carolina Temple will be built on an expansive 8.8 acres and will encompass a total of 18,850 square feet. Positioned at an elevation of 953 feet, the Temple promises not only to serve its members but also to enhance the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Renderings released on May 27, 2026, reveal a design featuring classical architectural elements, including a pedimented entrance supported by elegant columns and an ornamented steeple with a striking white tower body and metal-clad spire. This single-story building is set to become the first Temple in the city of Greenville and the first in Greenville County, further extending the reach of the faith in South Carolina.
Location and Accessibility
The strategic location of the Greenville South Carolina Temple just off Interstate 85 offers substantial benefits. It will dramatically reduce travel times for upstate residents who previously needed to drive to the Columbia South Carolina Temple, which has been in operation since 1999 as the first Temple in the state.
