Announcements and Groundbreaking
The journey toward the establishment of the Tijuana Mexico Temple officially began on October 2, 2010, when the Prophet Thomas S. Monson announced its construction during General Conference. This announcement filled many with anticipation and excitement. The groundbreaking took place on August 18, 2012, with around 2000 attendees witnessing the site dedication conducted by Benjamin De Hoyos.

Following several years of preparation, the Temple opened its doors to the public for an open house from October 13th to 28th, 2015. The exterior features precast concrete cladding, combined with frosted gold and clear glass artistry, which is accented by green terracotta. A beautifully crafted fountain, constructed with local cantera stone and vibrant Mexican hand-painted tile, reinforces the hacienda architectural style.
