The Austin Texas Temple, located at 1801 East Park Street, Cedar Park, Texas, represents a significant addition to the Houses of the Lord in Texas. This initiative was formally announced on April 3, 2022, by Prophet Russell M. Nelson, who shared a vision that would soon become a reality for many.
Groundbreaking and Dedication
On August 17, 2024, the groundbreaking and dedication of the Austin Texas Temple were conducted by Michael A. Dunn. Architectural Features
The design of the Austin Texas Temple showcases architectural elegance, characterized by a single attached central tower. This House of the Lord encompasses 30,000 square feet, thoughtfully planned to accommodate essential spaces, including:
- Two instruction rooms
- Two sealing rooms
- One baptistry
Standing at an elevation of 897 feet, this House of the Lord is built on a sizable 10.6-acre lot, providing ample space to support its intended functions.
Construction Progress
As of now, work is actively progressing on the Austin Texas Temple with sheathing, waterproofing, and exterior cladding underway. Efforts to deck the roof are also currently in motion, showcasing the commitment to bringing this vision into fruition.

The Austin Texas Temple will mark the seventh Temple in the state, joining the ranks of the Dallas Texas Temple, Fort Worth Texas Temple, Houston Texas Temple, Lubbock Texas Temple, San Antonio Texas Temple, and McAllen Texas Temple.
