On June 1, 2024, Elder Vaiangina Sikahema conducted the official groundbreaking and site dedication of the Cleveland Ohio Temple. This significant event marks the beginning of a new chapter in the spiritual journey for the over 63,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ohio.
A Landmark Location
The Cleveland Ohio Temple will proudly stand at 5997 Brecksville Road, Independence, Ohio 44131, on an expansive 12.5-acre site. Imagine a serene environment where believers can come together, share their faith, and find solace in their spiritual pursuits.
Architectural Beauty
The Cleveland Temple will feature a stunning granite exterior, standing tall at an elevation of 733 feet. Its elegant design will incorporate a single attached central spire, offering a striking silhouette against the Cleveland skyline. Unlike many other Temples, this one will not feature a gold-leafed Angel Moroni—a unique touch that will make it stand out even more.
Size and Functionality
Spanning an impressive 9,900 square feet, the Cleveland Ohio Temple will be equipped with everything needed for sacred ordinances. It will house one instruction room, a sealing room, and a baptistry, providing members with a fully functional space for Temple work.
A Community Hub
In an exciting twist, the Cleveland Ohio Temple will share its parking lot with a meetinghouse, offering ample space for Temple workers and patrons. This will further strengthen the bonds among members and their ancestors.
A Legacy of Faith
The Cleveland Temple is particularly significant as it will be the second one established in Ohio, making it a tremendous blessing for local members and the many congregations spread throughout the state.
