House of the Lord Fort Worth Texas Temple by LDS Temple News
Get ready for some exciting news from Texas! On Saturday, October 28, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the highly anticipated Fort Worth Texas Temple took place, with Elder Jose L. Alonso leading the festivities as the presiding General Authority. His dedicatory prayer was a heartfelt expression of gratitude, reminding everyone of the incredible gift of Jesus Christ and the hope He brings to our lives. “Our hearts are full of appreciation,” he shared, emphasizing how His teachings empower us to find strength and serve our communities.
But that’s not all—hold onto your hard hats because this temple is going to be a sight to see! The design features a stunning central spire that adds a touch of elegance to the impressive architecture. The temple will sit on about 9.37 acres just north of SW Hulen Street and Greenridge Drive in Burleson, making it a perfect spot for worship and fellowship.
Mark your calendars back to October 31, 2022, when the public got a first look at the charming exterior rendering of the temple—talk about a treat! This beautiful house of worship will be approximately 30,000 square feet and is set to be the sixth temple in Texas, a state bursting with over 360,000 Latter-day Saints.
Fort Worth, located northwest of Dallas, is buzzing with excitement as this new spiritual landmark is on the horizon. Just for fun, if you’re familiar with the nearby Fort Collins Colorado Temple, you’ll see that it features two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry. The Fort Worth Texas Temple will surely add its unique flair to that lineup, all while being nestled in the picturesque Texas landscape at an elevation of 768 feet. What a fantastic addition to the community and a beautiful place for all to gather and worship!
