Get ready to discover the amazing story of the Helena Montana Temple, a vibrant addition to the beautiful landscapes of Montana! Announced by President Russell M. Nelson during the 191st Annual General Conference on April 4, 2021, this temple is a beacon of hope for over 50,000 Latter-day Saints!

The excitement kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony on June 26, 2021, led by Elder Vern P. Stanfill of the Seventy. Standing in the picturesque Montana mountains, he reflected on the many faithful people who dreamed of this day, saying, “Theirs is a legacy of faith and discipleship of the Savior.” How cool is that?

Located at 1260 Otter Road on a spacious 4.8-acre site alongside a brand-new stake center, this temple is set to rise in style! With its cozy 10,000 square feet of sacred space, construction was quick-paced and precise, leading to a series of exciting events leading up to its completion.

Fast forward to April 20, 2021, when the official location was confirmed at 1230 Otter Road, where the original stake center once stood. As the old center made way for new beginnings, anticipation filled the air. Then came May—what a month! Kicking off on May 15, a media day set the stage for an open house experience that allowed invited guests to explore this beautiful new temple. The public got in on the action from May 18 to June 3, 2023, making memories and soaking in the peaceful ambiance.

The grand finale? The temple’s dedication on June 18, 2023! In two uplifting sessions, Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles presided over the event, marking a significant moment in the lives of many.

But that’s not all! The Helena Montana Temple is special because it’s the first to be built using innovative modular construction methods. Talk about modern architecture! The exterior boasts chic deco stone cladding and features a stunning central tower that makes it stand out against the backdrop of the stunning Montana sky.

Inside, it’s just as impressive! With a total of 9,794 square feet, the temple includes one instruction room, a sealing room, and a lovely baptistry. It stands tall at 96 feet 9 inches and sits at an elevation of 3,768 feet, making it not only a house of worship but a true landmark of faith!

So whether you’re a local resident or just passing through, the Helena Montana Temple is definitely a must-visit. It’s a place where beauty, spirituality, and the legacy of faith come together, offering a warm welcome to all who wish to explore its significance!
