The Lindon Utah Temple, located at 850 E Center Street, Lindon, Utah, 84042, is an exciting addition to the area. Officially announced on October 4, 2020, by Prophet Russell M. Nelson, this Temple is set to serve a growing population that values spirituality and connection.
Open House and Dedication
The Lindon Utah Temple will hold an Open House from March 12, 2026, to April 11, 2026. Following this, it will be dedicated on May 3, 2026. Anticipation is building in the community for the Temple’s official opening, reflecting the excitement of residents and future users alike.
Groundbreaking and Site Dedication
On April 23, 2022, Elder Kevin W. Pearson conducted the groundbreaking and site dedication. His words, “May the construction of Thy holy house here in Lindon continue to bless this community with peace, love, and unity,” resonate deeply in the hearts of the people in Lindon, emphasizing the positive impact this Temple is expected to have.
Architectural and Design Features
The Lindon Utah Temple covers 11.87 acres, with an exterior made of beautiful granite. Its architectural features include two attached end spires, and it is uniquely designed without a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue.
Interior Spaces
Inside, there are four instruction rooms, each seating 50 individuals, along with four sealing rooms and two baptistries. The total floor area of the Temple is an impressive 87,005 square feet, and it is constructed at an elevation of 4,817 feet, adding to its distinct presence in the region.
Unique Design Elements
The decor throughout the Temple incorporates the area’s agrarian roots, notably featuring the Linden Tree Flower in the stained glass and other decorative elements. This thoughtful design ties the Temple aesthetically to its surroundings.
Special Features
At the northeast corner of the Temple, a designated area allows for bridal parties to take photographs with the Temple in the background, enhancing personal milestones. Moreover, the parking lot is designed in a circular fashion with black ornamental fencing, creating an inviting atmosphere.
The Lindon Utah Temple will be Utah’s 25th dedicated Temple and the seventh within Utah County, which is positioned just south of Pleasant Grove and north of Orem. The first President and Matron of the Temple are Lynn McKinlay Brätt and Elizabeth Ann Prestwich Brätt.
This Temple is a significant step for Lindon’s population of 11,000, promising to enrich the lives of residents and provide a place for reflection and connection. As preparations continue for its grand opening, excitement and anticipation grow within the community.
