Architectural Features

Design Elements

Spanning 10.3 acres, the Las Vegas Nevada Temple showcases an exterior finished in striking white precast stone, complemented by a beautiful copper roof. Its design features six prominent spires, crowned with an angel Moroni statue, symbolically facing east to herald the Lord’s Second Coming.

Inside, the Temple consists of three levels and covers a total area of 80,350 square feet, set at an elevation of 1,946 feet. The interior is adorned with exquisite light fixtures from Preciosa, known for their custom brass and frosted-glass chandeliers. A focal point of the interior is the Celestial Room, featuring two magnificent chandeliers crafted from thousands of pieces of cut crystal.

Stunning Artwork

Artistic elements abound, including striking geometric patterns inspired by Art Deco, which beautifully reflect the surrounding desert. A notable desert-scape mural highlights the marriage waiting room, embellished with desert lilies integrated into the precast concrete exterior, along with stunning stained-glass windows.

Community Involvement and Legacy

A remarkable show of support accompanied the announcement of the Las Vegas Nevada Temple. Members of the surrounding region contributed enthusiastically, collectively raising $11 million—428 percent of their target assessment. More than 6,000 members participated in the groundbreaking ceremony held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, which included a video presentation from Church leaders at the temple site.

In a nod to its ongoing relevance, a family history center opened on the premises in 2012, utilizing a space previously occupied by a Distribution Services center.

As the first Temple established in Las Vegas, Clark County, and the state of Nevada, the Las Vegas Nevada Temple serves not only as a spiritual place, but also as a testament to the collective efforts and devotion of its members. Its dedication was a moment of unification among the entire First Presidency and Council of the Twelve Apostles.

The beauty and spiritual significance of the Las Vegas Nevada Temple continue to enrich the area and inspire countless individuals.
