Situated at 827 Temple View Dr, Las Vegas, this Temple rests on the eastern edge of the city, far removed from the bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip. Designed with six majestic spires, it artfully reflects the stunning red desert vistas of nearby Sunrise Mountain. Surrounding the Temple are beautifully landscaped grounds adorned with flourishing flowers and trees that enhance its serene ambiance. The exterior is elegantly crafted with white precast stone and a copper roof.
Architectural Details
The Temple spans 80,350 square feet over three levels. Its architectural design incorporates striking geometric patterns inspired by Art Deco, creating a visual harmony with the desert landscape. Inside, the Temple features a prominent desert-scape mural in the waiting room, along with striking stained-glass windows that invite natural light to enhance the atmosphere.
Interior Highlights
The interior boasts exquisite light fixtures made by Preciosa, showcasing unique brass and frosted-glass chandeliers. The Celestial Room serves as a focal point, featuring two enormous chandeliers, each 10 feet high and 8 feet wide, adorned with thousands of pieces of cut crystal. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the Celestial Room allow sunlight to filter through, casting miniature rainbows on the walls.

The Las Vegas Nevada Temple comprises four instruction rooms, six sealing rooms, and one baptistry, reflecting its comprehensive facilities designed to accommodate a range of important activities.
Historical Significance
The announcement of the Las Vegas Nevada Temple on April 7, 1984, by Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley marked a vital moment for the region. Groundbreaking occurred on November 30, 1985, attended by over 6,000 members at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Onlookers saw a videotaped presentation featuring Church leaders turning the earth at the site.
Dedication and Open House
The public open house ran from November 16 to December 9, 1989, attracting approximately 297,480 attendees. This was followed by a dedication held in eleven sessions from December 16 to December 18, 1989, a fitting gift just before the Christmas holiday. The dedication was graced by the presence of the entire First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles.

Upon the announcement of the Temple, local members responded enthusiastically, raising $11 million—an impressive 428 percent of their initial assessment. This outstanding community support underlines the Temple’s importance to the area.
