Groundbreaking and Design

The groundbreaking and site dedication occurred on April 23, 2022, conducted by Elder Kevin W. Pearson. A Closer Look at the Temple’s Design

Architectural Details

The Temple spans 11.87 acres and features an exterior made of granite. Its architectural design includes two attached end spires, notably absent of a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue. The layout incorporates four instruction rooms, each seating 50 individuals, along with four sealing rooms and two baptistries, totaling an impressive floor area of 87,005 square feet.

Local Artwork and Amenities

The Temple’s interior design includes beautiful stained glass that reflects the area’s agrarian roots, prominently featuring the Linden Tree Flower. Additionally, a unique area is designated at the Northeast corner for bridal parties, providing an excellent backdrop for photographs with the Temple in view.

Surrounding Features

The parking area surrounding the Temple will be circular, bordered by black ornamental fencing, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. This design not only facilitates accessibility but also contributes to a harmonious environment.

Community Impact

The Lindon Utah Temple is the 25th dedicated Temple in Utah and the seventh within Utah County. It serves the small city of Lindon, which has a population of approximately 11,000 residents, located just south of Pleasant Grove and north of Orem. The first President and Matron of the Temple are Lynn McKinlay Brätt and Elizabeth Ann Prestwich Brätt, reflecting a commitment to serve the local community and its spiritual needs.

With its rich history, beautiful design, and thoughtful integration into the local landscape, the Lindon Utah Temple stands poised to become a treasured space for many. As the open house and dedication dates approach, anticipation continues to grow for this important addition to Utah’s spiritual landscape.
