The Lindon Utah Temple, a notable addition to the Utah landscape, is set to open its doors for an open house from March 12, 2026 through April 11, 2026. Located at 850 E Center Street in Lindon, Utah, this new facility occupies an impressive 11.87 acres.
A Timeline of Significance
The announcement for the Lindon Utah Temple was made on October 4, 2020, by President Russell M. Nelson. It marked a significant moment for both local residents and those throughout the region. Groundbreaking took place on April 23, 2022, with Elder Kevin W. Pearson leading the site dedication. He expressed hope that the construction would “continue to bless this community with peace, love and unity.”
The Temple is scheduled to be dedicated on May 3, 2026, adding to the rich cultural and spiritual tapestry of Utah.
Architectural Features and Design
With a total floor area of 87,005 square feet and built at an elevation of 4,817 feet, the Lindon Utah Temple features a striking exterior made of granite. Among its architectural highlights are two attached end spires. Notably, there is no gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, giving the design a unique character.
Interior and Facilities
The Lindon Utah Temple includes four instruction rooms, each designed to seat 50 individuals, along with four sealing rooms and two baptistries. This emphasizes its readiness to accommodate personal and intimate experiences.
Decor Inspired by Local Heritage
The decor within the Temple features stained glass reflecting the area’s agrarian roots, particularly celebrating the Linden Tree Flower.
Amenities and Accessibility
Situated at the northeast corner is a special area designed for bridal parties to capture memorable photographs with the Temple as a backdrop. The circular parking lot surrounds the building, featuring decorative black ornamental fencing that complements the overall aesthetic.
Community Impact
The Lindon Utah Temple will serve as the 25th dedicated Temple in Utah, and the seventh built in Utah County. This new addition is expected to support the small city of Lindon, home to approximately 11,000 residents, located just south of Pleasant Grove and north of Orem.
Finally, the inaugural President and Matron of the Temple are Lynn McKinlay Brätt and Elizabeth Ann Prestwich Brätt, tasked with overseeing its operations and community engagement.
In summary, the Lindon Utah Temple is poised to become a significant aspect of life in Lindon, bringing together a rich blend of architectural beauty, local heritage, and a spirit of service.
