Nestled in the heart of Logan, Utah, the Logan Utah Temple stands as a testament to faith and dedication, having been completed in 1884. The journey to its creation began on October 6, 1876, when the temple was announced, paving the way for a monumental groundbreaking on May 18, 1877, shortly after the dedication of the St. George Temple. Picture this: more than 25,000 dedicated individuals, both hired hands and passionate volunteers from nearby wards, gathered to make this vision a reality. Timber was meticulously harvested from the scenic Logan Canyon Temple Fork, while stone was quarried from the picturesque Green Canyon. Building during the winter months allowed for the easier transport of materials, turning icy roads into a bustling scene of temporary sledding routes.
As the temple neared completion, an incredible community effort emerged. Women from the area joined forces to handcraft carpets for the temple; their labor of love resulted in an impressive 2,144 square yards of beautiful, handmade flooring, allowing the temple to be adorned in warmth and care rather than store-bought simplicity.
Focused on grandeur and beauty, the temple itself sprawls across a generous 9-acre plot selected by church president Brigham Young. With four ordinance rooms and 11 sealing rooms, this magnificent structure boasts a total floor area of 119,619 square feet. Designed by the church’s head architect, Truman O. Angell, the temple features two stunning towers reminiscent of the Salt Lake Temple, complete with a grand assembly hall and intricately styled rooms, infused with unique Gothic details that set it apart from other temples.

Another round of renovation in 1977 led to a complete interior overhaul, culminating in its rededication on March 13, 1979, by church president Spencer W. Kimball.
