The Louisville Kentucky Temple stands as the 76th dedicated temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a significant milestone in the church’s expansion. The announcement of this remarkable temple was made on March 17, 1999, followed by a successful groundbreaking and site dedication on May 29, 1999, led by Elder John K. Carmack of the Seventy.

This temple opened its doors to the public for an exceptional open house from March 4 to March 11, 2000, culminating in its dedication on March 19, 2000. At that time, Thomas S. Monson, who was an Apostle, performed the dedication, while Gordon B. Hinckley was the prophet of the church.

Occupying a prime 3-acre site, the Louisville Kentucky Temple impresses with an exterior crafted from elegant imperial Danby marble, sourced from Vermont. Architecturally, it features a striking single attached spire adorned with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, making it a distinguished landmark.

Inside, the temple offers two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and one baptistry, all meticulously designed within a spacious total of 10,700 square feet. Additionally, a meetinghouse conveniently shares the same parking lot, enhancing the facilities available to the community. Resting at an elevation of 785 feet, the temple commands attention and represents the steadfast presence of faith in the area.
