The Manti Utah Temple stands as the third dedicated House of the Lord in operation, marking a significant chapter in the history of the Latter-day Saints. Nestled at 200 E 510 N, Manti, Utah, this remarkable House of the Lord is renowned for its stunning architecture, rich history, and connection to the area.
Early History and Construction
Announced on June 25, 1875, the journey of the Manti Utah Temple began with the groundbreaking and site dedication on April 25, 1877, by the Prophet Brigham Young. Originally named the Manti Temple, it has undergone multiple renovations, leading to several public dedications and open houses. The most recent open house took place from March 14 to April 5, 2024, showcasing the House of the Lord’s enduring beauty and significance.
The temple’s last dedication occurred on April 21, 2024, led by the Prophet Russell M. Nelson, embodying the commitment of the Latter-day Saints to maintain and honor this sacred space.
Architectural Features
Spanning 74,792 square feet and standing at a height of 179 feet, the Manti Utah Temple is an architectural marvel. The exterior is finished with fine-textured cream-colored oolite limestone, sourced directly from the land beneath the House of the Lord, providing a unique connection to its surroundings.

Inside, the Manti Utah Temple accommodates four instruction rooms, nine sealing rooms, and one baptistry, supporting various sacred functions. Interestingly, a large arching tunnel beneath the east tower once permitted vehicles to pass from one side of the House of the Lord to the other. Though this feature has since been closed, its arch remains visible when entering the House of the Lord from the sealing rooms.
