Uchtdorf on October 8, 2023, marking a significant milestone for the area.
Architectural Features
The McAllen Texas Temple covers an impressive 27,897 square feet and sits on 10.61 acres. It rises to a height of 108 feet, standing at an elevation of 107 feet. This design features a single attached central tower, with a steel-frame foundation and a beige precast exterior crafted by Gate Precast from Hillsboro, Texas. The exterior rendering was officially unveiled on August 28, 2020, giving a glimpse into the aesthetic beauty of the Temple.

Inside, the design showcases soft-gold broadloom carpet in the general areas and instruction rooms, while wall-to-wall wool rugs enhance the celestial and sealing rooms. Vibrant area rugs in shades of blue, gold, and green add to the overall ambiance and warmth of the space.

The internal layout includes two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and one baptistry, providing ample space for various needs. Additionally, a meetinghouse of over 19,000 square feet will be constructed on the same lot, which will feature accommodations for three wards, a stake suite, mission offices, and a distribution center.
