The journey of the Medford Oregon Temple began with an announcement made on March 15, 1999, during the General Conference. On May 20, 1999, D. Lee Tobler conducted the groundbreaking and site dedication. The anticipation built as the public open house took place from March 24 to March 29, 1999, attracting 46,000 attendees—16,000 more than expected.
The Temple was dedicated on April 16, 2000, by Apostle James E. Faust. Covering an area of 10,700 square feet, the Temple sits at an elevation of 1,272 feet, making it a unique addition to the landscape of Central Point.
Architectural Features
