On April 4, 2021, President Russell M. Nelson shared the exciting announcement regarding the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple. This development comes as a response to the needs of the over 154,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints living in Oregon. Since the arrival of settlers in 1887, the region has seen significant growth, now encompassing more than 300 congregations across the state.
Details of the Temple
The Willamette Valley Oregon Temple is strategically located at 3701 Corporate Way in Springfield, Oregon. Encompassing 10.5 acres, this impressive 30,000-square-foot facility features prominent architectural elements, including a single attached central spire that rises to 120 feet. At an elevation of 429 feet, it offers a striking presence in the landscape.
Inside, the Temple includes two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, designed to accommodate various needs and functions. Additionally, the floral design throughout the Temple incorporates Dogwood and Laurel flowers, contributing to its serene ambiance.
Groundbreaking and Upcoming Events
The groundbreaking for the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple took place on October 29, 2022, presided over by Elder Valeri V. Cordón. Following the groundbreaking, a media day was scheduled for April 20, 2026. On April 21 and 22, invited guests will have the opportunity to tour the Temple ahead of the public opening.

Dedication Ceremony
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is set to dedicate the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a rebroadcast at 2:00 p.m.
For the Latter-day Saints in Oregon, this Temple will be the third house of the Lord in the state, complementing the existing Temples in Medford and Portland. As President Nelson emphasized, Temples play a vital role in the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, providing blessings that strengthen and empower lives in unique ways.
