Location and Groundbreaking

Situated at 742 N 900 E, American Fork, Utah 84003, the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple was announced on October 3, 1992. The groundbreaking and site dedication took place shortly after, on October 9, 1993, led by the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley.

Public Open House and Dedication

A public open house was held from August 6, 1996, to September 21, 1996, attracting an impressive 679,217 people who toured the Temple. The dedication occurred from October 13, 1996, to October 19, 1996, with Gordon B. Hinckley presiding.

Architectural Details

Covering 16.7 acres, the Temple features an exterior finish of sierra white granite with art glass windows and bronze doors. Standing at 190 feet tall and sitting at an elevation of 4,764 feet, it is a sight to behold.

The Temple also includes four instruction rooms, eight sealing rooms, and one baptistry within its impressive 107,240 square feet.
