The Saratoga Springs Utah Temple is the 179th dedicated Temple in operation. Located at 987 South Ensign Drive, Saratoga Springs, Utah 84045, this remarkable building has quickly become a prominent feature in the city.
History and Milestones
The announcement for the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple was made on April 2, 2017, by the Prophet Thomas S. Monson. At that time, there were 16 dedicated Temples across Utah, including notable ones like the Bountiful Utah Temple and the Logan Utah Temple.
The groundbreaking and site dedication occurred on October 19, 2019, led by Craig C. Christensen. Following several years of construction, the Temple opened its doors to the public for an open house that ran from April 15, 2023, through July 8, 2023, attracting 587,809 guests. Finally, the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple was dedicated on August 13, 2023, by Apostle Henry B. Eyring.
Architectural Features
The Saratoga Springs Utah Temple spans 97,836 square feet and sits on 22.71 acres of land at an elevation of 4,652 feet. The architectural design features a single attached central spire topped with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni Statue, making it a striking addition to the landscape.
Exterior Design
The exterior finish consists of beige precast concrete panels that are eight inches thick, complemented by a spire made of glass fiber reinforced concrete. A decorative band wraps around the exterior, showcasing a mountain design along with representations of wetlands and snowy egrets, an emblem of Saratoga Springs City.

The art glass within the Temple draws inspiration from the Arts and Crafts movement, incorporating colors and forms influenced by Utah Lake and the Wasatch Mountains. Shades of purples, blues, greens, and golds create a harmonious blend with the natural surroundings.

Inside, the flooring combines various materials such as carpet, porcelain tile, ceramic tile, and stone. Each area has been thoughtfully designed, with custom rugs found in spaces like the bride’s room and entry, along with “rug-like” patterns in the restrooms.

The interior features stylized flowers in decorative paint that mirror the local wildflowers, including the iris and daisy. In addition, the baptismal area includes intricately designed mosaic glass tiles in an array of tranquil colors.
