Welcome to the Orem Utah Temple, a beautiful addition to our community and the 188th temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Located at 1451 S 1100 W in Orem, Utah, this stunning temple offers a peaceful retreat for everyone who seeks a little more spirituality in their lives.

The excitement for the temple began on October 5, 2019, when it was first announced—what a thrilling day that was! Fast forward to September 5, 2020, and we celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony with Elder Craig C. Christensen leading the way. Despite being a smaller gathering due to the pandemic, it was a heartfelt event filled with hope, especially with members of the Williamson family there, who once owned the land.

After much anticipation, the public open house took place from October 27 to December 16, 2023. So many folks had the chance to explore the lovely details of the temple before its dedication! Sitting on a generous 15.39 acres, the temple is dressed in gorgeous pedras salgadas granite from Portugal, complemented by warm bronze doors that warmly welcome visitors.

Isn’t the architecture breathtaking? The temple features a lovely three-story design topped with a charming central spire. Inside, you’ll find 71,998 square feet of sacred space, thoughtfully crafted to create a peaceful atmosphere. With four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and one baptistry, there’s plenty of room to nurture your spiritual journey.

A favorite feature for many is the artful windows, tinted in taupe and adorned with beautiful designs that pay homage to local cherry blossoms and the wetlands around Utah Lake. They really help to bring the beauty of the outside in! The interiors shine with Crema Marfil marble from Turkey, with beautiful patterns in shades of red, green, cream, and brown that capture the eye and heart.

The surrounding landscape is just as lovely, featuring Norwegian sunset maples and snow queen hydrangeas, among other delightful plants. It’s perfect for a leisurely stroll or simply taking in the peaceful surroundings.

Elder Christensen beautifully described the Orem Utah Temple as “an added refuge of strength in an increasingly uncertain world.” It’s a comforting place where families and individuals can come together to deepen their faith and find solace. Given the 26 stakes in the area at the time of the announcement, it’s heartwarming to see that the temple serves such a vibrant and growing community.

The Orem Utah Temple is truly more than just a building; it’s a welcoming space that invites everyone to experience its beauty and find peace. We can’t wait for you to visit!
