The journey of this temple began when it was announced on October 9, 1919, and it has since become a significant landmark in the area. Opened to the public for a special house tour from October 16 through November 20, 2021, under the guidance of Prophet Dallin H. Oaks, the temple welcomed visitors eager to explore its beauty.
Spanning 20 acres, the Mesa Arizona Temple boasts a breathtaking exterior made of reinforced concrete adorned with 130 tons of steel, finished with a stunning glazed eggshell hue. Its architectural style features a unique flat roof and sculpted friezes, adding to its visual appeal.
Inside, the temple is designed for spiritual experiences, featuring four instruction rooms, six sealing rooms, and a baptistry—all within a generous 75,000 square feet. The temple rises to a height of 53 feet, situated at an elevation of 1,240 feet, making it a prominent feature of the Arizona landscape.
