Mesa Arizona temple Christmas lights

Arizona temple Christmas light

Nestled in the heart of Mesa, Arizona, the Mesa Arizona Temple stands as a beacon of faith and architectural beauty. As the seventh dedicated temple in operation, this stunning structure is not only a spiritual haven but also a significant piece of local history.

Located at 101 S. LeSueur, the temple was first announced on October 9, 1919, marking the beginning of a dream that would flourish over the years. With a grandeur of 75,000 square feet, it proudly rises to a height of 53 feet, built upon an elevation of 1,240 feet. The temple sits elegantly on 20 acres of land, offering a serene environment for visitors and worshippers alike.

Visitors had the unique opportunity to explore its beauty during a public open house from October 16 through November 20, 2021, guided by none other than Prophet Dallin H. Oaks. As one walks through the temple, they can admire the striking exterior finish, a combination of concrete reinforced with 130 tons of steel, enveloped in a gorgeous glazed eggshell coating.

The architectural design is a feast for the eyes, featuring a flat roof adorned with sculpted friezes that tell a story of hope and promise. These decorative elements symbolize Isaiah’s prophecies from the last days, gracing the temple’s corners with rich symbolism and meaning.

Inside, the temple is equipped to serve the spiritual needs of its community, boasting four instruction rooms, six sealing rooms, and a baptistry. Originally known simply as the Arizona Temple, it was the first of its kind in the state and has transitioned from live acting performances to modern displays, ensuring that the message of faith continues to resonate with all who visit.

Whether you’re a local resident or a curious traveler, the Mesa Arizona Temple offers a profound experience, inviting all to reflect on the beauty of faith and the significance of community.
