Payson Utah Temple by LDS Temple News

Welcome to the Payson Utah Temple, an incredible sanctuary and the 146th temple dedicated for Temple ! This beautiful place is all about helping us connect with those deeply meaningful questions we all have—like why we’re here and what our purpose in life is.

The journey to building this remarkable temple started with an exciting announcement from Prophet Thomas S. Monson on January 25, 2010. He beautifully stated, “Temples answer those soul-searching questions… They are sanctuaries from the storms of life.” Isn’t that just lovely?

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 8, 2011, and it was quite a memorable day, with more than seven thousand people braving a light drizzle and chilly temperatures to be part of this historic moment! Prophet Dallin H. Oaks shared inspiring words, highlighting how the temple would be a guiding light for everyone traveling along I-15.

When the public open house arrived between April 24 and May 23, 2015, it was a huge hit! Over 475,542 visitors toured the temple, marveling at its serene beauty before its dedication on June 7, 2015, led by Apostle Henry B. Eyring.

Set on 10.63 acres, the temple features a stunning exterior crafted from cream precast concrete panels. Its central spire, topped with a golden angel Moroni, reaches a majestic height of 208 feet, making it a landmark in the Payson skyline. Inside, you’ll find three instructional rooms, seven sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all nestled within 96,630 square feet of sacred space.

If you’re ever in the area, be sure to stop by at 1494 S 930 W, Payson, Utah 84651. The Payson Utah Temple is not just a beautiful structure; it’s a warm and welcoming place that invites everyone to explore its tranquil halls and find a little peace in their day. We’d love for you to experience the love and joy that radiates from this special place!
