Announced on April 2, 2017, the journey to the Pocatello Idaho Temple began with great anticipation. The groundbreaking and site dedication occurred on March 16, 2019, officiated by Elder Wilford W. Andersen. Following years of construction, the public open house ran from September 18 to October 23, 2021, drawing a remarkable 250,721 visitors. The Temple was officially dedicated on November 7, 2021, by Apostle M. Russell Ballard, who expressed hopes for the future generations in his dedicatory prayer.
Architectural Beauty
The Pocatello Idaho Temple features a striking design built on 10.94 acres. It showcases an exterior of white granite sourced from China and boasts a central spire adorned with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue. The architectural layout includes four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and one baptistry within its expansive 71,125 square feet.
