The journey to the Pocatello Idaho Temple began with its announcement on April 2, 2017. The temple’s groundbreaking and site dedication took place on March 16, 2019, presided over by Elder Wilford W. Andersen. The temple then opened its doors to the public from September 18 to October 23, 2021, during which approximately 250,721 individuals experienced its interior and surroundings. The formal dedication of the temple occurred on November 7, 2021, led by Apostle M. Russell Ballard, who expressed wishes for its success and for those who would partake in its offerings.

Architectural Features

The Pocatello Idaho Temple is built on a generous 10.94 acres. With an impressive size of 71,125 square feet, this three-story building features a striking exterior made of white granite sourced from China. One notable architectural feature is its single attached central spire topped with a gold-leafed Angel Moroni statue, making it easily recognizable from Interstate 15 and Interstate 86.

Inside, the temple contains four instruction rooms, four sealing rooms, and one baptistry.
