The announcement for this beautiful temple was made on September 3, 1998, and its groundbreaking took place on February 6, 1999, led by Loren C. Dunn.
If you’re interested in visiting, the public open house was held from December 3rd to December 11th in 1999. The Raleigh North Carolina Temple was officially dedicated shortly after, from December 18th to 19th, 1999, by the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley. How wonderful is that?
There was even a second public open house from September 21st to September 28th in 2019. The Raleigh North Carolina Temple was rededicated on October 13, 2019, by Apostle M. Russell Ballard, making it even more special for the Temple.
The Raleigh North Carolina Temple sits on a lovely 3.17 acres and showcases a beautiful exterior of beige limestone. One of its standout architectural features is a single attached spire topped with a stunning gold leaf Angel Moroni statue. Inside, it includes two instruction rooms, two sealing rooms, and a baptistry, all within its cozy 12,864 square feet.
Standing tall at 83 feet 9 inches and at an elevation of 447 feet, the Raleigh North Carolina Temple is the first temple in North Carolina, making it a Temple of pride for many!
