Key Features of the Wichita Kansas Temple
The construction of the Wichita Kansas Temple encompasses a total area of 9,950 square feet and features a single story. A prominent architectural aspect includes a central tower, although it does not have the gold-leafed Angel Moroni atop its structure. Within this House of the Lord, you’ll find one instruction room, one sealing room, and a baptistry designed for specific purposes.
Historical Context
Wichita holds a unique place in the narrative of the Latter-day Saints. In 1831, missionaries began sharing their messages with the Shawnee and Delaware tribes in this region. The first branch was established in Wichita in 1882, paving the way for the growth of nearly 40,000 Latter-day Saints in around 75 congregations across Kansas today.

The dedication of the Wichita Kansas Temple is set for Sunday, November 1, 2026. Before the dedication, an open house is planned to run from September 24, 2026, through October 10, 2026.
